Leavenworth’s annual Oktoberfest celebration — recently named one of the country’s top 13 outdoor festivals by Outside Magazine — returns Oct. 4-5, 11-12, & 18-19. The Bavarian village’s beer gardens located at the Leavenworth Festhalle and Front Street Park host three stages chock full of scheduled entertainment. Oktoberfest in Leavenworth welcomes a roster of standout musicians on three stages including:
· West Coast Prost - California's premier polka variety band playing polkas, waltzes, Dixieland, swing, and country/western favorites, West Coast Prost brings an exciting sense of youth to an older tradition of music.
· S Bahn Band - A popular polka variety band out of Canada boasts an impressive fan following and are ready to rock Oktoberfest!
· Die Jungen Weststeirer - The up-and-coming Austrian band playing classic Polka and Oberkreiner Oktoberfest music will make their debut in the US at Leavenworth’s Oktoberfest.
· Pech und Schwefel - An impressive Austrian band that rocks the biggest folk festivals and Oktoberfest’s in the world including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Austria, and Germany.
· Enzian Schuhplattler of Seattle and the Tirolean Dancers of Oregon perform traditional German-style dances in elaborate traditional costumes.
· Showstopper Manuela Horn, the Yodelin’ Queen, returns for multiple weekends of epic performances.
· Fan favorites Smilin Scandinavians, AlpenFolk, The Europa Band, The Ted Lunka Polka Band, European Takeout, the Leavenworth Alphorns, and more, play the traditional Oktoberfest music attendees are sure to love.
· The Aqua-Nets - One of the Pacific Northwest’s best cover bands and rock band the Hosen Ones (as in Leder-hosen) keep the party going with their return this year.
New this year, Leavenworth Oktoberfest’s streamlined payment system introduces a commemorative smartcard fabric wristband, which offers tap-and-pay purchases for a cashless event. Attendees will also have the option to pay via credit/debit or mobile pay app, while those wishing to use cash can pre-load a wristband.
Festival-goers will enjoy more vendors, food, and beer, as well as a larger Kinderplatz area complete with a 62-foot Ferris wheel, a rootbeer garden, and lots of free games for the kids. Also new this year will be a special area for adults to enjoy lawn and leisure games.
