Recreation Ambassador Staff

Pay Rate: $20 per hour

This seasonal position plays a critical supporting local recreation and support role for the volunteer Recreation Ambassador program. Ambassadors on duty will focus on volunteer management, hospitality, resource education and assistance with Willkommen Center operations as directed.

Primary Duties

Assist volunteer teams deployed at river locations and trailheads on weekends during the summer months.
Deployment to river or trail head locations to provide visitor information and assistance.
Light litter and debris removal.
Data collection through intercept surveys or other means
Doing everything with a smile and a great attitude!
Special projects when assigned
Encourage our visitors to enjoy Leavenworth with suggestions for activities, lodging, shopping, and service member referrals.
Covering the information desk at the Willkommen Center by answering phones, greeting incoming visitors and reviewing incoming email requests.
Greeting/Interacting with the public and giving directions and advice to visitors.
These positions report to the Recreation Ambassador Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications

Have an interest in, respect for, and ability to work with the public and provide destination information.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Commitment to clear, kind and professional communication
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances due to seasonal events and responsibilities.
Ability to work actively outdoors and able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within our community.
Previous experience in an outdoor recreation setting preferred.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications or willingness to obtain.
Previous customer service is helpful but not required.
