Christmas Lighting Festival Postponed for 2020

In light of our current situation with the ongoing pandemic and on the recommendation of the Christmas Lighting Committee, the chamber’s Board of Directors have made the heavy-hearted decision to postpone the multiple Christmas Lighting Festivals this December. The chamber will continue to move forward with stringing lights downtown as normal which will simply remain on from Thanksgiving to Valentine’s day.

It has been and will continue to be a tough year for us all and our lights will be our Christmas card to our fellow Washingtonians to enjoy when they can. If we are able to progress out of phase 1.5 then we will progress as well, adding any elements (such as roving carolers) back to the month of December. We also are planning some virtual events, mid-week promotions, and other tools to help businesses in what will be an unusual December.

We know this may not be surprising news, but disappointing just the same. A press release will be going live later today so you may begin getting questions and comments from your guests and customers.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Sincerely,

Troy Campbell, Executive Director

Jesse Boyd, Board President
